Inconel 718 Sheet
Inconel® 718 is an age-hardenable nickel super alloy that combines superior strength and corrosion resistance with high ductility. This super alloy (also known as UNS N07718) contains significant levels of iron, columbium, niobium, and molybdenum, in addition to smaller amounts of aluminum and titanium. Altemp Alloys supplies Inconel 718 plates and sheets in:
- AMS 5596
- AMS 5597
- GE B50TF14
- ASTM B-670
Inconel 718 sheets are known for their excellent impact and tensile strength. Along with this strength, Inconel 718 stands out from other materials in maintaining high weldability. In many alloys, there is a significant tradeoff between strength and welding performance. Inconel 718 sheets provide high levels of both properties, along with resistance to post-weld cracking.
In addition to high strength and ductility, this super alloy is used in a wide variety of applications due to the wide range of temperatures it can withstand. Inconel 718 demonstrates reliability in extremely cold and high-heat applications. These properties make Inconel 718 sheets a popular choice for numerous applications. The sheets are used in hot extrusion tooling and parts, such as:
- Fuel tanks
- Aircraft & rocket engine components
- Instrumentation components
- Nuclear fuel element spacers
Inconel 718 sheets are also frequently used in fabricating components for a number of industries, including aircraft, aerospace and defense. Parts and components commonly made from Inconel 718 include: cryogenic storage tanks, turbines, nuclear fuel element spacers, pump body components, a/c engine and rocket engine parts.
In addition to sheets, Altemp Alloys is a leading supplier of Inconel 718 plates, rods and bars, and carries a number of other alloy products, including stainless steel, Hastelloyâ„¢ super alloys and other Inconel products (Inconel 600, Inconel X-750, Inconel 617 and Inconel 625).
Based in Orange County, CA, Altemp Alloys leads the alloy industry in the customization and distribution of exotic alloy products. Altemp Alloys provides a variety of top-quality alloy products for clients around the U.S.
