Key Features & Properties

Inconel 718 plate is known for their high impact, tensile and rupture strength. In many alloys, this level of strength results in a loss of welding performance. Inconel® 718 plates stand out, however, since they possess an invaluable combination of durability and weldability. In addition, this super alloy can withstand a wide range of temperature extremes—and is trusted for both cryogenic and high-heat applications.

Industrial Applications

These super-alloy properties make Inconel 718 plate a popular choice for numerous industries. The alloy is ideal for hot extrusion tooling and parts, such as: rings, fasteners, casings, bolts and instrumentation components. Inconel 718 plates are also frequently used in fabricating aerospace, aircraft and other components, including but not limited to:

  • Cryogenic storage tanks
  • Turbines
  • Down-hole shafting parts
  • Well head parts
  • Rocket components
  • Nuclear fuel parts
  • Aircraft engine components

In addition to plates, Altemp Alloys carries Inconel 718 sheet, Inconel 718 bar and rod—and stocks a number of other Inconel alloys, including Inconel 600, Inconel X-750, Inconel 617, and Inconel 625.

An Orange County, CA, based industry leader in the distribution, cutting and machining of exotic and high-temperature alloy products, Altemp Alloys provides a variety of superior-quality alloys for aerospace, aircraft and defense clients around the U.S.
